Here we go! My first post (of many hopefully!) in this blog. I have no idea what I'm doing so feel free to give me pointers!
I'm a PhD student (working with friendly bacteria, hence the name) and I'm hoping to use this blog to take all the cool things people are researching in the world today and make them a bit more accessible to non-scientists. It's really important to find out fun new stuff but if nobody understands what you've done or what you're talking about, so I want to try and take awesome new science and tell the world about it! I know I'm not the only person doing this but there's a ridiculous amount of new research being done all over the place so it'll be fresh, I promise! There will be other bits about things I get up to in the real world if I ever do anything interesting too. I'm going to make little videos at some point, maybe in the form of vlogs or something, to talk about science or my life or things like that.
So who am I? I'm a male 23 year old British PhD student. I'm really interested in biology! I love animals, nice food, and walking on the beach. I don't know what else to say right now but I'm sure it'll all come out soon!
As far as updates and things go, I'm hoping to try and put up a post every day to start with, just as I find my feet. If that's too much, I'll tweak things, but I'll start by posting often. I'll warm up to doing videos and things in a few weeks maybe.
I'm just rambling on now so I'll post this up. Then spend the rest of the day figuring out how to use Blogger and make this pretty and things! Feel free to give feedback on anything you can think of (if anyone reads this).
